Atonement – This book sent me searching back for “what really happened”, and thinking about the reality of fiction.
Home by Marilynne Robinson – A beautifully written book about families and black sheep, aging and coming home. Should be read either before or after the Pulitzer Prize winning Gilead, which tells a part of the same story from a different point of view.
